Have you ever sat down to watch some Netflix and thought 'this would be my dream job'? If so, it's your lucky day because Netflix are recruiting for one of their much coveted roles of Netflix Tagger, based in Ireland or the UK.
What, we hear you say, does a Tagger do? Well, you'll be required to watch shows on Netflix and accurately 'tag' them according to category, genre, key themes etc. Therefore making the discovery process easier for Netflix users and also making the shows that Netflix suggests to its users as relevant as possible.
Although the premise of the part-time role is pretty straightforward, in practice there is a reasonable degree of knowledge and skill required in order to appreciate the nuances involved and thus accurately tag the shows and films you watch. With that in mind, Netflix does list some requirements for interested applicants stating that the role would “suit those with a passion for films and TV programmes, as evidenced by a degree in film or film history and/or experience directing, screening writing or filmmaking. Applicants with analysis experience (e.g., as a critic or work in development) would also be well suited”.
