Dream Job Vacancy on an Idyllic Scottish Island

The Isle of Rona has a dream job vacancy for a couple and it sounds perfect to us!  Living on this idyllic Scottish island, you and your significant other will be helping out with every element of this largely self-sufficient island – from fully managing the island's two holiday cottages to maintenance, boatwork, deer management, painting and much more.  Needless to say, applicants will have to be resourceful self-starters, willing to have their sleeves permanently rolled up to get involved with anything and everything the island throws at them.

Originally published on the island's website at the start of 2023, the job was posted on HiJobs.net at the start of March, with the vacancy seeking a 'Live-in Estate Worker & Partner'.  Certainly accurate but probably under-selling just how wonderful a lifestyle is offered by this unique role – we imagine HiJobs will have lots of interest in it!

Whilst the challenges of living and working on a remote island in Scotland shouldn't be downplayed – indeed for many it might sound like more of a nightmare job than a dream job – the upside includes spectacular views, no commute, being surrounded by unspoilt flora, fauna and wildlife, free accommodation, immense job satisfaction and [presumably] lots of venison.

Unsure as to whether island life is for you?  Take a look at the island's tourism website here, where holidaying on Rona is described as 'Robinson Crusoe in luxury'.
